A Desperate Plea for Rescue

In July 2023, numerous concerned citizens reached out to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, reporting a lone dog stranded by the roadside. One caller provided a precise location, setting the wheels of rescue into motion. The rescue team knew they had to act quickly before the frightened animal could vanish.
Rescue worker Donna Lochmann, understanding the urgency, immediately set out to save the distressed pup. Upon arrival, she was met with a heart-wrenching sight: a frail and terrified dog lying in the grass, too weak to move.
Lochmann approached cautiously, not wanting to add to the pup’s fear. She spoke softly, offering treats to gain the dog’s trust. The pup’s sad eyes watched her, a glimmer of hope beginning to flicker.
