A Shy Dog Named Billy Bob
Arriving at the League for Animal Welfare shelter in Batavia, Ohio, in April 2021, Billy Bob had been rescued from a shut-down facility in West Virginia due to cruelty and neglect. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that this shy dog had endured an unimaginable past.
His initial days at the shelter were marked by fear. Billy Bob was scared of everything, reluctant to walk on a leash, and he tried to make himself as small as possible to avoid attention. The shelter shared, “When he arrived, he was terrified… scared to walk on leash; scared to come to people.”

Finding a family willing to work with Billy Bob and love him unconditionally was a dream come true. His new life began with a person who understood his anxieties and a furry sibling named Oakley to keep him company.
