The journey was arduous, spanning 8 long hours, but the dedicated team was unwavering in their mission to bring an innocent puppy out of her harsh conditions. “We had this sweet girl transported to the DFW area, having just seen a picture of her in a cardboard box,” the team shared on social media.
Upon their arrival at the site, the volunteers carefully lifted the tiny pup, soon to be named Ridley, into their vehicle. They transported her to SHR’s clinic, where she was greeted with warmth, tasty treats, and affectionate kisses.
Ridley was merely a three-month-old puppy at the time of her rescue. Although she seemed joyful and playful, a comprehensive medical examination soon revealed that things were not as perfect as they appeared.
“We discovered she had a serious heart defect. It could only be fixed with a balloon valvuloplasty procedure at Texas A&M,” the team announced, shedding light on the gravity of the situation.
