The Long Wait
All her life, Panini has been nothing short of a sweetheart. Despite this, her closest brush with adoption has been watching her shelter friends leave for their forever homes, while she remains behind.
The staff at Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas is devastated by Panini’s ongoing exclusion. Whether it’s due to black dog syndrome or just bad luck, she has never experienced the joy of being a family dog.
But hope still lingers! Her caregivers are determined to find this girl the perfect home she deserves.
Panini has been at the shelter for nearly 250 days. During her stay, she has never exhibited any undesirable behavior.
A Gentle Soul Overlooked
Panini is adored by everyone at the shelter due to her calm and gentle disposition. Even her playtime is gentle, making her a captivating presence among all.
“Panini is a sweetheart and a shelter favorite. Unfortunately, she has been at the shelter for almost 250 days,” the shelter shared in a Facebook post.
Whether she’s playing with other dogs or enjoying her daily walks, Panini is always well-behaved.
She’s leash-trained and housebroken, making her an excellent companion even on car rides. Panini even shares her kennel without any issues, but still, she remains homeless.
A Glimmer of Hope
To combat this injustice, her caregivers decided to give Panini a taste of real family life through a short-term foster vacation.
Her temporary family gave her glowing reviews, highlighting her natural ability to fit into family life effortlessly.
Despite never having been adopted, Panini seems to understand indoor living perfectly.
“Panini is a NATURAL family dog. She won my 3-year-old over instantly. My almost 1-year-old cried at first, but her sweet kisses on his fingers made him giggle,” reported the rescue.
Hope for a Forever Home
Recently, Panini was placed with a new foster mom, Heather Kelly, who takes her on new adventures every day.
Heather is amazed that such a nice and friendly dog couldn’t find a home yet. Besides Panini’s natural affection for everyone, she’s also great with kids and makes an excellent babysitter!
“Panini is getting a much-needed break from the shelter. She’s been overlooked for too long. She’s dog and kid friendly. Please share so we can find her a loving home,” Heather posted on Facebook.
While Panini hasn’t found her perfect family yet, everyone remains hopeful that her time will come soon.
Panini is the complete package: from being a lap dog who loves cuddles to an adventurer who’ll join you on outings – she can do it all!
It’s safe to say that Panini is the full package! When the right moment arrives, she will find her real humans. For now, all she needs is one chance!
