He Struggled At The Shelter For Months
Julia Correll, from the Desert Dog Project, saw Sully and was instantly captivated. Volunteering at the shelter, she couldn’t ignore his sorrowful appearance and severe arthritis, which made walking a challenge.
Previously known as Gindo, Sully was picked up as a stray. While his companions found loving homes, he remained alone, appearing much older than his five years.
Julia couldn’t understand why people found Sully intimidating. To her, he was the friendliest Pittie she had ever met, and she was determined to give him a second chance.
Julia took Sully on daily outings to the park, where they soaked in the beauty of the world, forming a bond that changed both their lives forever.
The Easiest Dog His Momma Ever Had
What began as a foster trial quickly became a permanent arrangement. In just a few months, Sully had convinced Julia to be his forever momma.
Despite taking six months to adapt to house life, Sully made it clear that he was the easiest foster Julia had ever had. His charm and love won her over completely.
Julia even got Sully his very own stroller, allowing him to join her on adventures without worrying about his condition. They explored the city, made new friends, and enjoyed every moment together.
To further improve his quality of life, Julia provided Sully with custom braces, joint injections, acupuncture, and physical therapy. She was committed to helping him live like any other dog.
A New Chapter with a New Sibling
Julia’s dedication didn’t stop there. She surprised Sully with the best gift he could ever ask for – a dog sibling named Effie.
Effie’s arrival brought immense joy to Sully. He took on the role of a loving, protective big brother, showering her with gentle care and affection.
After all the hardships, Sully finally had a family that wouldn’t abandon him. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, exploring their Arizona home.
Julia’s love transformed Sully’s life, giving him the chance to experience happiness and unconditional love like never before. Sully’s journey from despair to joy is a testament to the power of love and second chances.
