Such was the case with Ribbles, a sweet pup who waited faithfully on the railway after being abandoned, risking her life in the hope of seeing her family again.

Believing Her Family Didn’t Abandon Her
Left at a railway in Southern California, Ribbles refused to accept that her family had forsaken her. She waited tirelessly on the tracks, convinced they would come back for her. Her dedication was so strong that she ignored the daily hazards, believing it was worth the risk.
As days turned into weeks, her hope began to wane, yet she remained on those perilous tracks. She missed her parents dearly and clung to the hope of their return. Her story could have ended tragically, but fate had other plans.
One day, a compassionate woman noticed Ribbles narrowly escaping a speeding train. Realizing the pup’s dangerous predicament, she knew she had to act swiftly to save her. Despite her efforts, catching Ribbles proved difficult, so she called Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy.
Hall wasted no time and rushed to the scene. Her dedication to rescuing animals is unparalleled, and she immediately set out to save Ribbles from the tracks.
Ribbles’ Rescue Mission
Upon arriving at the railway, Hall saw Ribbles darting into a hole in the fence whenever a train approached. She discovered the hole led to a car dealership where the staff had been feeding and sheltering the dog. Grateful for their kindness, Hall devised a plan to trap Ribbles safely.
The staff allowed her to set a humane trap on their property. Hall placed food inside a crate, hoping Ribbles would venture in. However, the pup was wary and didn’t approach while Hall was present, so she decided to return the next day.
The following morning, Hall’s heart sank when she saw figures on the tracks. Fearing the worst, she ran towards them. To her relief, they were coyotes, not Ribbles. Ribbles was safe, and to Hall’s joy, she found her inside the crate.
With Ribbles finally rescued, Hall took her to Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, California. The vet treated her for a severe ear infection and swollen limbs. Despite her suffering, Ribbles displayed incredible bravery and resilience.
Her love and loyalty to her family had kept her alive through the toughest times.
Finding Her Place Under The Sun
After a full recovery, Ribbles found her forever home. Her new family fell in love with her instantly, realizing she was destined to be part of their lives. They renamed her Lucy, and she now thrives in her new home in Joshua Tree.
Lucy enjoys a life filled with love and adventure alongside her dog sister. They spend their days hiking and exploring with their family, basking in the affection they both deserve.
Knowing that Lucy found her place under the sun brings immense joy to all who hear her story. Her journey from abandonment to a loving home is a testament to her strength and the power of hope.
